周明忠，男，教授，博士生导师；1997年于成都理工学院获地质学学士学位，2008年于中国科学院地球化学研究所获矿物学岩石学矿床学博士学位；主要对华南埃迪卡拉系-寒武系过渡地层中火山沉积记录开展发现、地球化学及锆石U-Pb年代学工作；已主持国家自然科学基金项目3项；曾担任国家重点研发计划青年科学家项目、国家万人计划青年拔尖人才项目及国家自然科学基金项目函评专家，以及Journal of Asian Earth Sciences等期刊审稿人；于Science Bulletin, Precambrian Research, Science China Earth Sciences, 中国科学:地球科学，科学通报等期刊发表论文。
